Discover Manker: Compact Throwers, Pocket Floodlights and Searchlights

Manker are a favourite among torch enthusiasts for one simple reason: it packs serious performance into small, well-built lights at sensible prices. Its range runs from tiny AAA keychain lights to pocket throwers that reach 600 metres and a fan-cooled searchlight that puts out more than 40,000 lumens. This guide covers who Manker are, what each family in the range does best and the models worth knowing in the Manker range at Torch Depot.

Who are Manker?

Manker are the torch brand of Dongguan Manker Optoelectronic Technology, a Chinese manufacturer that has built a strong following on enthusiast forums and review sites. Rather than chasing headline lumen figures alone, Manker are known for choosing the right LED for each job: tightly focused LEDs for their throwers, high-CRI Samsung LEDs for their floodlights and pocket torches, and efficient drivers that hold steady output. Many models also include USB-C rechargeable batteries that double as a power bank. You can see the brand's full catalogue on the Manker official website.

The Manker range explained

Pocket floodlights: E14 and ML03

These short, wide-beam torches are built for lighting what is around you rather than reaching far. The E14 IV uses four LEDs behind a smooth optic for a bright, even flood, and the ML03 adds a built-in battery and power bank in a palm-sized body.

Compact throwers: MC12 II and MC13 II

Manker's MC series fits long-range LEDs into small bodies. The MC13 II reaches 600 metres from a torch you can carry in a jacket pocket, and the MC12 II comes in white, red or green versions for hunting and spotting.

Tactical: Striker and MC11 II

The tactical lights use a large tail switch for momentary and constant on. The Striker has a removable stainless steel strike bezel, and the MC11 II is an ultra-compact 18650 torch with a 2000 lumen burst.

Everyday carry: E02 II, E12, F14 and PL11

These cover AAA and AA lights, a dual-beam pocket torch and a penlight that is also a working pen.

Searchlights: MK38 Satellite

The MK38 is Manker's flagship: eight high-output LEDs, three 21700 batteries and built-in cooling fans.

How to choose a Manker torch

  • Flood or throw. If you mostly light up a room, campsite or engine bay, choose a floody torch like the E14 IV or ML03. If you need to see a long way, for spotting on a farm or searching a tree line, choose a thrower like the MC13 II.
  • Battery size. 18350 cells keep a torch very short. 18650 cells give longer runtime in a slightly longer body. The E14 IV and MC13 II can use either, which is a clever touch.
  • Switch type. A tail switch is quick to find by feel and suits tactical use. A side switch is easier for everyday tasks and moving between modes.
  • Light colour. Cool white gives the most output. Neutral white with a high CRI shows colours more naturally, which helps when you are working, fishing or looking at wildlife.

Manker FAQ

Is Manker a good torch brand?

Yes. Manker are well regarded by torch enthusiasts for strong performance in compact bodies, good LED choices and solid aluminium construction. Models such as the E14 series and MC13 II are frequently recommended in reviews.

What is the difference between a thrower and a flooder?

A thrower focuses its light into a tight beam that reaches a long way, like the MC13 II's 600 metre beam. A flooder spreads its light widely so you can see everything around you, like the E14 IV. Lumens alone do not tell you which is which, so check the beam distance too.

Are Manker torches rechargeable?

Most are. The E14 IV, MC13 II, Striker, MC11 II and MC12 II come with USB-C rechargeable batteries, and the F14 and ML03 have built-in batteries. The E02 II and E12 run on AAA and AA batteries.

Which Manker torch is the brightest?

The MK38 Satellite, at 41,500 lumens. For pocket size, the E14 IV reaches up to 4000 lumens.

The short version

Manker make enthusiast-grade torches that punch well above their size. Pick the E14 IV for a powerful pocket floodlight, the MC13 II for long-range throw in a small body, the Striker for tactical use, the F14 for a dual-beam everyday torch and the MK38 Satellite for lighting huge areas.
